What You’ll Do
The Fredericksburg Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Parking Enforcement Officer. Duties include patrolling assigned areas, issuing citations for violations, and providing information to the public regarding parking regulations. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to handle situations with tact and professionalism. Additionally, the position involves keeping accurate records of citations and collaborating with other city departments to ensure a safe and orderly parking environment.| Parking Enforcement and Compliance: Enforce all parking laws outlined in the Fredericksburg City Code and write parking tickets for any violations of city code. | Investigation and Resolution: Respond to and investigate parking-related complaints, and testify in court for contested parking tickets. |
| System Operation and Vehicle Management: Operate the AutoChalk parking enforcement system and tow vehicles when necessary due to parking violations. | Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned. |

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Two (2) years of related experience or training;
- Or equivalent education, and/or experience.
- A valid Virginia driver’s license.
