Position Overview: As a Gate Worker, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a fun and safe experience for all pool patrons. The pool season runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, and your contributions will be essential to our success!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service Champion: Greet patrons with a smile, collect entry fees, and answer questions to ensure a welcoming experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Open admissions and concession areas, maintaining smooth daily operations.
  • Financial Accuracy: Collect fees, issue receipts, and keep meticulous records of all revenue during your shift.
  • Information Resource: Assist pool users by providing brochures, directions, and information on pool rules and regulations.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Communicate effectively with staff and public safety officials during emergencies.
  • Environment Steward: Conduct litter pick-up and maintain cleanliness in and around the admissions area and pool.
  • Tech Savvy: Operate various office equipment and maintain office supply inventories.
  • Professional Interaction: Build effective relationships with supervisors, staff, patrons, and external partners.
  • Custodial Duties: Keep workspaces organized and perform general cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and tidy environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Attend department meetings and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 15 years of age.
  • Attend mandatory training prior to each season.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of city policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Strong clerical and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with laws, ordinances, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment and performing basic mathematical calculations.
