Maintenance Manager – Transit/FXBGO!
Full-Time
Salary Range: $58,918 - $64,800 DOQ
Position Overview: Join our team as a Transit Maintenance Manager, responsible for overseeing and managing the Transit Maintenance Division. Ensure the effective operation of transit maintenance, including staff management, vehicle repairs, and facility management, while complying with all Federal, State, and Local requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Transit Maintenance Division for safe and effective operations.
- Manage personnel matters: hiring, staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct quality control inspections on vehicle repairs.
- Ensure daily operational readiness of the transit fleet.
- Maintain accurate records and process work orders and invoices.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs.
- Manage vendor relationships and competitive pricing for parts.
- Oversee installation and repairs of transit-related equipment.
- Maintain fleet inventory and manage procurement of new vehicles.
- Perform emergency repairs and on-call duties as needed.
- Manage facility maintenance and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational/technical training in automotive/diesel repair.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in transit maintenance.
- Proficient in computer systems and relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Ability to operate tablets, cellphones, and related software.
Special Requirements:
- Classified as essential personnel.
- Must pass a DOT physical examination.
- Valid CDL Class B or C with passenger endorsement and air brake endorsement required.
- Ability to meet physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with a variety of mechanic’s tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain effective relationships.
- Ability to make quick, safe decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of safety guidelines.
Work Environment:
- Flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to perform duties under multiple demands and high stress.
