Front Desk Receptionist
PART-TIME SEASONAL
STARTING HOURLY RATE: $18 PER HOUR

Join our team and play a vital role in supporting parks, recreation, and events in Fredericksburg. We are seeking a dedicated individual to handle essential administrative tasks and provide excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer and direct phone calls; greet visitors and provide information or refer inquiries to appropriate personnel.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors entering the building.
  • Receive, process, and record registration fees and program forms; handle cash receipts and maintain cash drawers.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail; prepare and send outgoing mail with correct postage.
  • Open and close facility during after-hours rentals and normal workweek as per schedule.
  • Ensure safety and security of facility and visitors during evening and weekend shifts.
  • Operate standard office equipment and maintain an organized work area.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments and meetings for staff.
  • Utilize software such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Availability for night and weekend work.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in administrative tasks or equivalent education/experience.
  • Flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with City of Fredericksburg procedures and policies.
  • Proficiency in routine administrative/clerical tasks and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain effective relationships with internal and external personnel.
  • Competence in data management and basic mathematical operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions, carry out tasks independently, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Farsi is a plus.
