Recreation Program Assistant (Sports Site) Part-time as Needed Starting Hourly Salary: $15.77
Join Our Team: We are seeking a dedicated Recreation Program Assistant to join our Parks and Recreation team. This role involves overseeing program facilities and sports activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up fields and facilities for games and practices.
Communicate with parents and coaches, distribute updated schedules, and address questions and concerns.
Maintain a safe and fun environment for players, spectators, and coaches.
Inspect equipment for safety and ensure proper use of facilities.
Operate equipment safely and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Report accidents, incidents, and disciplinary actions to the supervisor.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting patrons and answering questions.
Communicate with staff and public safety officials during emergencies.
Maintain equipment inventories and request orders as needed.
Interact professionally and courteously with supervisors, staff, and the public.
Perform general custodial work and maintain organized and clean workspaces.
Report public hazards to the immediate supervisor.
Attend department meetings as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Available to work weekday evenings and Saturdays.
General knowledge of sports and game day events is a plus.
Must attend mandatory training sessions.
Special Requirements:
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Valid driver’s license issued by the state.
Background and driving record check required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of departmental methods, procedures, and policies.
Knowledge of relevant laws, ordinances, and regulations.
Ability to organize work around broad organizational goals.
Effective communication and regular reporting to supervisors.
Capable of overseeing complex program development.
Ability to implement policies and procedures for successful operations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to exert moderate physical effort for medium work.
Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects up to 50 pounds frequently.
Requires a range of physical activities including balancing, climbing, and kneeling.
