LEAD CREW MEMBER – STREET SANISTATION
Starting Salary: $41,872

Join our team to lead and supervise a group of laborers in street sanitation. As a Lead Crew Member, you'll ensure the smooth operation of our city's essential services.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Crew Leader in directing daily operations and ensuring work area safety.
Prepare reports and maintain logs of activities.
Oversee or participate in equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
Operate or supervise the operation of various trucks and heavy equipment.
Drive street sanitation vehicles, including street sweepers, water, trash, dump, and recycling trucks.
Assist with tree removal and debris cleanup after storms.
Direct traffic during road work and clean-up jobs.
Provide guidance to lost or stranded visitors and citizens.
Remove deceased animals from streets.
Train other employees in equipment use.
Collaborate with the Clean Community Commission on projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years of experience in public works maintenance and repair, or equivalent education and experience.

Special Requirements:

Traffic Control and Flagging license from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Transportation.
Pesticide Applicator License.
Certified Aerial Lift Operator.
CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid Certifications.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License.
